Medical services
UWC Dilijan has a modern, well-equipped medical centre on campus to provide high quality health care for students and staff. The centre has several hospital beds including an isolation ward.
A team of qualified nurses ensure that the medical centre is manned 24 hours per day, and there is an experienced doctor available to staff and students for consultation.
In addition to this exceptional facility, Dilijan is well-served by the Tavush Medical Centre, located only a few minutes from the school campus. The Tavush Medical Centre can provide first-class support for more serious medical issues should they arise.
There is a medical centre on the Program site where the medical staff monitors the Child's health and have direct access to the Client.
The medical staff will exercise their best efforts to keep in touch with the Client and/or the Child’s legal representative to discuss issues related to the Child’s health condition. If it is impossible to get in touch and/or in emergency situations, the medical staff is authorized to make decisions based on the Child’s best interests. The medical staff is authorized to decide whether the Child needs to be transferred to the hospital before the Client arrives and/or before the Client (the Child’s legal representative) provides his/her consent.
The medical staff shall provide first aid to the Accompanying Persons and Visitors on Campus. All expenses related to the further medical assistance provided to the Accompanying Person or the Guest are covered by the Accompanying Person or the Guest. If the Participant’s insurance does not cover the medical expenses, the Program Organizer and the Client shall agree on the allocation of medical expenses.
List of diseases that preclude participation in the Program:
– Acute infectious disease;
– Exacerbation of chronic diseases;
– Lice infestation (Pediculosis);
– Bed wetting (Enuresis);
– Allergic rhinitis, respiratory allergies, bronchial asthma during periods of exacerbation;
– Liver disorder, kidney disease, gallbladder disease, stomach disease during periods of exacerbation;
– Mental or psychological disorders;
– Other diseases that might preclude the Child and/or the Accompanying Person from fully participating in the Program, as well as those diseases that preclude a person from entering the territory of the RA or require a person to be isolated from minors.
Diseases that preclude participation in the Program and are not mentioned in the Child's file shall be treated at a medical institution at the Client's expense based on the bill provided by the medical institution.

Rules on offsite events
1. During shot-term visits to Dilijan and surrounding areas, the Child will be accompanied by the Program staff members;
2. Trips within Armenia are organized under the Programs staff, security staff, qualified guides and medical staff supervision;
3. Before the visit or trip Program staff tells kids about the visit destination and planned events, what conduct is expected from the kids (namely, to follow road safety rules, to listen to and follow staff instructions, immediately inform a staff member if the Child does not feel well);
4. Before the visit or trip Program staff instructs the kids what kind of items they might need (sports shoes, hats, warm cloths);
5. If transportation is required, it is organized by Program staff members, who check in advance vehicles conditions;
6. On the visit/ trip date Program staff members make sure that the kids are properly dressed and prepared;
7. On the location Program staff members organize an additional briefing based on the location’s characteristics
